Various FBI warnings, security analysts, and a recent long and scathing blog post from OneZero, a Medium publication about tech and science,: Zoom Is a Nightmare. I am still a fan of the Zoom platform, but increasingly hear that these reports have frightened even the most relaxed and satisfied users. However, as Zoom makes clear below, they are not selling user data. Many if not all of the cloud-based, social, free platforms are using the information you provide to sell to third parties. That usually means that companies are selling your data. If a product is free, then you are the product. We assume that companies have our best interest at heart, but we also know that has proven to be untrue. After all, we signed the terms of service (often without even reading them). For some of us, these things are tolerable. If you follow technology and business news, you likely have heard about Zoom’s challenges with security.
